MEET OUR CAST

WLTF, where oldies rule in Moorhead, Minnesota, is once again presenting its annual Christmas tradition of sponsoring The Moorhead Theater Company's broadcast presentation of LEGALIZE LUTEFISK! You can be a part of the studio audience down at the "local VFW Hall" as members of the Moorhead Theater Company present a LIVE broadcast reading of their original holiday play! Join them as they take us back to a simpler time—a time before the Internet, before Facebook, before cell phones—return to December 1979, when a Georgia peanut farmer was in the White House and the Soviet Union still ruled half of the industrialized world. And for the Larson family of St. Cloud, Minnesota, December brought only two certainties: a visit from Great Uncle Sven and the traditional holiday meal of lutefisk.

WLTF owner and station manager John Oster will serve as our narrator of the story. Taking on double duty, Mr. Oster will also be the live Foley man supplying all the on-air sound effects to complete the transformation of the story for everyone's enjoyment. Will Mr. Oster keep his spotless record of 21 perfect broadcasts in tact? Does the Pope crap in the woods?
Tune in to find out!

Ed McGuire, everyone's favorite old fart, returns to the broadcast as Uncle Sven Gunderson, Lars Larson's rich uncle. Although born in the old country, at the age of 18 this headstrong Swede headed to the great north woods of America to be an Indian-fighting, fur-trapping frontiersman, only to become the cardboard king of Minnesota! Will the family secret he has kept to himself be revealed to the Larson family during this traditional holiday meal?

Jill Chukerman Test will bring the voice of Ellen Larson to life. This loving mother of two has been slaving all day in a hot kitchen preparing the Swedish sausage—the courf, Swedish Limpa bread, the bruna bern—the brown beans, the potatoes with the cream gravy and the lingonberries, but most important of all, the lutefisk. Will this traditional Swedish holiday meal please her family?

Naomi Oster narrates the voice of Linnea Larson the 16-year-old youngest child of Ellen and Lars. Upset that this year her mother has decided the children will eat all the traditional Swedish food with the adults, Linnea longs for the time when she and her pain-in-the-neck brother would be treated to burgers, pizza or hot dogs. Will she ruin the evening with her complaints and constant quarreling with her brother?
                      Tune in to find out!

Tom Test will delight listeners with his vocal styling of Lars Larson, the head of the Larson clan. Lars, an insurance salesman by trade, dreams of one day taking over the cardboard kingdom created by his mother's brother, Uncle Sven. Always quick to pucker up for a relative, Lars is determined to display family unity during the holidays. Will his unruly children embarrass Lars far more than he embarrasses himself?
Tune in to find out!

Adam Hall brings his talents to the broadcast to voice the oldest Larson child, Eric, the 18- year-old lead guitarist of Moorhead's punk rock group, The Screaming Skulls! Upset that he has to miss the Battle of the Bands contest in the Twin Cities this year because of this stupid holiday meal, Eric plots his revenge. Will his plan ruin the family meal and evening?
